Waterfront Conference 2023 has ended

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is a mission-driven, nonprofit organization that works for a vibrant, inclusive, and globally competitive economy for all New Yorkers. We take a comprehensive approach, through four main strategies: strengthen confidence in NYC as a great place to do business; grow innovative sectors with a focus on equity, build neighborhoods as places to live, learn, work, and play; and deliver sustainable infrastructure for communities and the city's future economy.

The work of the Offshore Wind (OSW) team at NYCEDC is critical for reaching NYC’s ambitious clean energy goals and establishing the necessary infrastructure for OSW activity. NYCEDC’s OSW projects include:
  • Activation of OSW sites, such as the redevelopment of South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT) to serve as a hub for OSW staging, interconnection, operations, and maintenance.
  • Launch of the Offshore Wind (OSW) NYC Waterfront Pathways Program to counter disparities in public procurement by increasing opportunities for Minority-owned, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (M/W/DBEs) in the OSW and waterfront industries.
  • Advancing the research and innovation ecosystem though past efforts such as the release of the OSW Innovation RFI to gather information regarding innovations that solve OSW industry challenges and create economic opportunities for New Yorkers.
